Intel has signed a memorandum of understanding to install Wimax equipment in the Chinese cities of Dalian and Chengdu. The two cities will be the first in China to have the technology.

 

Dalian, which serves, as a hub for industry, trade, and finance in China's northeast region, has a population of 5.9 million. Chengdu, is a major hub for the southwest region and has a population of more than 10 million, and is home to over 20 universities.

 

Specifics of the agreement have not yet been disclosed.
